Thinking about selling on eBay?  It's a wonderful venue for selling just about anything imaginable.  With millions of shoppers and items, it's the premier Internet shopping site and one that should be considered anytime you have items to sell - whether you are an individual with a garage to clean out or a business with looking for a way to move additional inventory.

Having been an eBay Seller for nearly 4 years, we've learned some techniques for success.  Here are just a few:

Understand your competition.  Be knowledgeable about selling prices for comparable items.  Unsold items caused by  unrealistic prices will waste your time and cost you unnecessary selling fees.

Include good quality images.  We still see poor quality images that hurt chances for good results.

Understand the myriad of selling options eBay has to offer - For example, know when to use a reserve, BIN, fixed price or Dutch auction.

Understand what it takes to have your item found when potential bidders are shopping.  A great item at a great price won't sell if nobody can find it.

Work within eBay rules and restrictions to drive customers to your own web site and increase exposure for repeat sales.

Be 100% honest in your descriptions.  If your item is damaged or worn, disclose it.  If you don't, it will only cause  problems down the road.

Make it easy for the buyer to complete the transaction and pay you.

Respond to all email inquiries on a timely basis.

Properly package items for shipping.  Even with insurance, you don't want to spend time dealing with damage claims.

Ship your items on time and confirm shipment via email.  Your customers will appreciate the courtesy.

We can help you sell your items.  Here's what we typically do for our clients:

Search out comparable items to determine likely sales value.

Create the description and layout.  (We use Microsoft FrontPage for all of our web editing.)

Create the raw images with a high-end digital camera or a scanner.

Use Photoshop to enhance the images and convert them for use with eBay.

Determine the optimal combination of eBay selling options.

Upload the images to our website for access from the eBay web site.

Submit the listing to eBay

Communicate with bidders.

Properly follow up and handle the transaction closing activities.

Ship the item after it's paid for.

As a consultant, our fees are based on the time we spend.  For cars and motorcycles, it's usually a bit more since there is typically quite a bit of email interaction with bidders.  However, unlike other consultants, we do not charge a percentage of your selling price.

We've had success with everything from $10.00 collectibles to $30,000 automobiles.  We've sold advertising and military memorabilia, hand tools, small appliances, consumer electronics, antiques, computer hardware and software, exercise equipment, motorcycles and motorcycle parts.  We avoid clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, and health products.  Furniture is possible but is usually problematic due to crating and shipping costs.

Contact us by phone or email for information on how we can help you.  There is no fee for a phone consultation.
