CliqDesk is a top-level user environment which allows easy movement among tasks and files. It is a consistent, fast and flexible user interface able to be tuned to meet the needs of both novice and expert users. It can be set up to control both
Cliq applications as well as other software
programs. The user can switch between the "Object View"
(shown below) and an "Index View" for file and directory
services.
The "Desk" is the first screen the user sees upon entering Cliq and is the focal point for all activities within
Cliq. The Desk is a scrolling window - able to hold an unlimited number of items. Desk items can be either a File or a
Cliq Accessory Program (e.g., CliqMail or
CliqCall) that a user accesses frequently. Desk items may also be "suspended" tasks which are in process tasks or files which are "on hold" waiting to be resumed.
CliqDesk is "object oriented" in that it recognizes either file types or tools and accesses the requested object or file along with the associated software program.
